OK, boychicks, here we go for Matza Ball 6! It looks like we'll all be nashing on krepblocks and huckmantashen in Santa Cruz, barring any major acts of rain from above. We've got a strong team of 20 this year. Some may ask, "so big, why?". Well, my friends, we've got some minor injuries, but mostly, some of us ain't gettin any younger, and as it is our duty to bring home the victory, we must be ready with ready young foot soldiers so that the elder, er older group can make it to the end without plotzing and schlepping. I am very excited to have 5 new players this year, all of whom you will meet in no time.

Messages from Players:
Thanx to Dave and all for having me and my family be a part of this grreat tradition! It's an honor to be on the field with such a bunch of yidlach boys. Have a happy and healthy year and know all are welcome in Chicago or Oregon in our home if you find yourself in our hood.

Dave, and all the rest of the brethren:
Thanks again for another fabulous time. I look forward to this every year, and although we couldn't pull it out this time, the weekend didn't disappoint at all. Only 362 days until fools 2001 - I better start some serious training....
Pete
I had a great time this year, as usual. Even though we did not prevail and the goyem splattered a pickle on our phonograph, the spirit was high and the love was freeflowing. The block that Mark got on the hammer to S Lippy was excellent, and should never have been sent back. Josh made that killer layout catch on D, and everyone who played had great heart. The revised tournament schedule resulting in capping the semi finals at 11 was weak, but not as weak as Dusty Baker's cheer (How uncomfortable was that moment? 'the sickle...PPPLLLLEEEEEAAASSSEE!') and subsequent finals performance. My only regret is that no one got a picture of me in my brown leisure suit next to the gold Jeep wrangler that I rented. Quite a spectacle. For everyone who wasn't easily accessible at the end of our last game....I have a hug for you.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!! Thanks for a terriffic weekend
Dan
Aloha my fellow Jews,
It is with much sadness in my heart that I will for the first time miss playing my favorite tournament with my Jewish friends. As some of you may know the Zinner clan is finishing up a wonderful 7 month displacement on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. The timing of our return to the mainland comes just one week too late to join you this weekend, but my spirit will be with you. Have a super fun weekend and show those gentiles why we have persevered for so many centuries. Let this year's victory set the stage for this new millennium.
Mahalo Russ, Porte and Eli.
I too will be unable to make this years pilgrimage. I second Russel's thoughts and wish you all the best. Have fun, play hard and crush those gentiles.
Dilly
